I have been interested in fluorescence for many years. This particular fushia plant in parent’s garden (a sole survivor, it’s not really hardy), has, for me, a fluorescence which is somewhat captured by this photo, taken at dusk. Sheep’s wool is also slightly fluorescent.


I’ve not been that lucky with plant photography with digital cameras, my attempt to get picture of the saffron crocus’s last year were a wash-out – literally – in as much as the delicate purple was washed out to white. Yes, I grow (at parent’s) saffron, but this year looks like another no-show. Plenty of plants, not one flower head so far.
